  1. Do you mean French marigolds or true marigold (calendula)? I had heard that calendula (true marigold) kept all sorts of bugs at bay, but your picture is of a French marigold. I like to spray with pepper and garlic to keep skeeters out of the garden. Have you tried that?

    • I Meant calendula(true marigold) that is used by gardeners and homeowners as a companion plant and because of its natural insect repellent qualities. You right, that pic was of french marigold,I’ve replaced it.Garlic is more effective at repelling some species of mosquito than others. Strong smell of garlic overwhelms the mosquito’s sense of smell and prevents them from finding their prey. Many of the commercial preparations available include a number of different repellent ingredients but garlic is among them.Spraying garlic liquid on your skin also keeps mosquitoes away in addition to Eating garlic which may also give you some mild protection, both from the odor on your breath as well as sulfur compounds that you emit through your skin when you eat garlic.Black pepper is also helpful to keep them away.
